Pet Surgery in Orlando

As with every other service we offer, we make our patients’ safety and comfort one of our top priorities during every procedure we perform. We use advanced equipment, including a pulse oximeter and ECG, to monitor each pet’s vitals (heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, etc.). We also assign a technician to every patient to monitor him/her before, during, and after surgery.

Surgical Anesthesia

Our anesthesia protocols are customized to every pet. In many cases, we recommend pre-anesthetic blood work to check for any underlying health issues or anesthetic risks. We also perform a thorough physical exam and review his/her medical history to determine if your pet is healthy enough for surgery/anesthesia. While your pet is completely anesthetized, we’ll supply IV fluids and/or pain medications to support circulation and blood pressure. Although anesthesia is not without risks, we make every effort to ensure your pet’s safety with our protocols.

After Your Pet’s Surgery in Orlando

When you come to pick up your pet after surgery, we’ll give you detailed information about how to care for him/her from home. We’ll also provide you with any needed pain medications so your pet can be comfortable during recovery. Your pet will likely be lethargic for the first 18-24 hours, which is normal after anesthesia. We recommend that you keep your pet in an area away from other pets, young children, or stairs during this recovery time.
